The Mexico Grand Prix can indeed take place according to its promoter
Despite the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that hit Mexico and claimed the lives of more than 200 people, the organizers of the Mexican Grand Prix, which will take place next month, assure that the event will proceed as planned.

Promoters of the Mexican Grand Prix assure that this year’s race will not be affected by the aftermath of the earthquake that hit the country a few days ago. Indeed, a devastating earthquake struck the Mexico City region, causing significant damage and resulting in the deaths of over 200 people. The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, which hosts the Mexican Grand Prix, is located in the outskirts of Mexico City, raising concerns about the event’s occurrence.
The organizers announced through Rodrigo Sanchez, the marketing manager of the circuit, that the track had not suffered any damage: « If things remain the same, we will continue doing what we do, helping. The track is good, and we just need to refocus to finalize the show ».” Before adding: « It is a relatively new circuit. In Mexico, all new structures are built with this purpose because the risks of earthquakes are very high. It has already been inspected twice, the track surface and the buildings, and it’s good. We will continue to conduct evaluations as we move forward, but so far, there really is no problem, we will have a race. »
The Mexico Grand Prix, which is one of the biggest sporting events held in the country and enjoys impressive popularity with no less than 340,000 people attending throughout the weekend, will take place as normally as possible as a sign of solidarity from the Mexican people in the face of the catastrophe.
Subsequently, Rodrigo Sanchez insists that the current priority is to ensure that the infrastructure of the Mexican capital is fully operational and can resume its usual activities.
Mexican driver Sergio Pérez quickly responded to the disaster that hit his country by donating over €140,000 and launching a joint operation between his foundation and that of the Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim (who supports Pérez’s career, Ed.) to raise donations to aid the population. In this context, donations made to the Pérez foundation are quintupled by the billionaire’s foundation.
