Last February, Liberty Media announced the launch of a new F1 streaming service starting from the 2018 season during the Australian Grand Prix. However, due to implementation issues, its launch was postponed until further notice.

This delay had then been justified by a desire to deliver to customers a streaming system offering the best possible experience. Formula 1 executives announced today that the F1 TV system would finally be available starting from the Spanish Grand Prix, which will take place on the weekend of May 13.

F1 TV will first be available on computers via desktop before being available on tablets and other devices through Android TV and Apple TV during the summer. The system will broadcast all sessions and races of the F1 World Championship, as well as the F2, GP3, and Porsche Super Cup championships. However, the broadcast of these ancillary championships will not be in place by May 13 but at a later date not yet announced.

The director in charge of digital, Frank Arthofer, also stated on this subject: There are enormous opportunities to offer F1 enthusiasts a unique experience of broadcasting F1 on all devices. With this launch, fans will find an easy-to-use streaming experience, rich in live and on-demand content available exclusively on F1 TV, all at a great price.
