Coulthard and Montagny will drive a Red Bull and a Renault through the streets of Marseille
The details of the roadshow taking place on Friday, June 22 in the streets of Marseille have been clarified by the organizers, who are anticipating a popular event on the sidelines of the French Formula 1 Grand Prix.

We now know a little more about the event that will take place in Marseille on Friday, June 22, alongside the French Grand Prix of Formula 1.
The announcement was made official by the city of Marseille itself: a 2-kilometer mini-circuit will be set up between the port quay, facing the Town Hall, and the J4 Esplanade, on Rue des Dames, for a road show during which two Formula 1 cars, a Red Bull driven by David Coulthard and a Renault driven by Franck Montagny, will run for free for the Marseille public.
An event intended to be popular to celebrate the grand return of Formula 1 in the Hexagon: « We wanted to celebrate the return of Formula 1 in France with great pomp with a free event, open to all, to reach fans where they are. With the city of Marseille and other institutions, we considered several routes and this one seemed the ideal solution to us, with a fantastic backdrop. » explained Alexandre Molina, FOM’s event director.
The former swimmer and current delegate for major events in the city of Marseille, Frédéric Bousquet, is also very enthusiastic about hosting Formula 1 at the Vieux Port: « The course is spectacular with staggered starts over 1 hour 30 minutes and Renault vehicles displayed in front of the town hall to celebrate the brand’s 120th anniversary. It will be a festive and popular event with maximum safety measures in place. »
In addition to this road show, a village will be set up from Friday at 5 p.m. on the Esplanade du J4 where the public can enjoy various activities, the screening of the qualifications and the Grand Prix on a giant screen, and the presence of Alain Prost, four-time world champion, who will be there on Saturday afternoon.
