Fernando Alonso partners with Alibaba for his karting school in China
In order to support the development of his karting school in China, Fernando Alonso has struck a deal with the giant Alibaba, which will provide its IT infrastructure.

Fernando Alonso’s schedule does not stop at his impressive racing program, which sees him participating in both the World Championship and endurance racing simultaneously.
He is also busy developing his lifestyle clothing brand, Kimoa, which has a strong presence with McLaren. But his activism doesn’t stop there, as in 2011 he opened a museum dedicated to his glory in his hometown of Oviedo, next to which he placed a karting track. Four years later, he decided to go further in this endeavor by opening a driving school so that young children can hone their skills as aspiring drivers.
This year, he entered into a large-scale partnership with the Chinese company Yi Qian Communications to construct nearly 40 karting tracks across China over the next five years. The goal is to be able to develop a driver capable of progressing to F1, which has not yet been achieved despite numerous attempts over the years.
To strengthen this detection program, Fernando Alonso’s partner decided to team up with Alibaba, one of the leading technology companies in the country, which started as a marketplace but has transformed to reach many other sectors. Alibaba will thus provide its cloud services to store data from go-karts during each track session. The collaboration will also be implemented to maximize the go-kart manufacturing process at Yi Qian’s factories, with the ultimate goal of having factories without human intervention.
