Force India saved by the Stroll family!
The British administrators who owned the team accepted an offer this Tuesday from Lawrence Stroll, the father of the Williams driver, leading a consortium of several investors.

11 seasons and a now assured future! Created in 2008 after buying the Spyker team, Force India will continue its journey in Formula 1. This was not guaranteed on the evening of the last Hungarian Grand Prix. Placed under judicial administration since Friday, July 27 by Sergio Pérez and his representatives, an agreement was reached with a consortium led by Lawrence Stroll, and other investors, including John Idol, a leader in the fashion industry. A group assembled with the support of Otmar Szafnauer, the team’s managing director.
Announced this Tuesday evening, the happy news allows the team based in Silverstone to become solvent again. All creditors will finally be repaid, which secures the future of Force India, as confirmed by Otmar Szafnauer.
« I am delighted to have the support of this consortium of investors. They all believed in our team, which demonstrates the development achieved by Force India so far in Formula 1. » added the team’s chief operating officer, who also had a word of thanks for Vijay Mallya, the founder of the structure, now relieved of all responsibilities, as he is still under the threat of extradition to India, where he is charged with money laundering and fraud.
In any case, all 405 jobs are preserved. However, uncertainty still looms over the duo of drivers who will be in the VJM11 for the Belgian Grand Prix in two and a half weeks. Should Esteban Ocon be worried? It will all depend on the willingness of Sergio Pérez’s Mexican sponsors. In any case, a seat seems promised to Lance Stroll, either at the start of the school year or later in 2019.
