Official: Grosjean and Magnussen reconfirmed at Haas for 2019
The American team Haas has chosen to play the card of continuity by extending the contracts of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen for the 2019 Formula 1 season.
While an announcement was expected for the upcoming United States Grand Prix, the Haas team surprised the Formula 1 world by announcing their driver pair choices for 2019.
On the other hand, no surprises were to be expected from this statement since the current pair of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen has been extended for the next season. Although the Frenchman had been somewhat criticized following a series of errors at the beginning of the year, the team has decided to renew their confidence in him.
« From the very beginning, we have needed experienced drivers for the development of our car and our team. And we have two highly experienced drivers with Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen. We have made a lot of progress since last season, so the decision to keep them was easy to make. » said Sporting Director, Günther Steiner.
The drivers are obviously very excited about continuing the adventure: “It’s impressive to see how much the team has progressed in a relatively short time and for someone who has been there from the beginning, it’s a pride for all the efforts and sacrifices we have put into the team,” as confirmed by Romain Grosjean or even Kevin Magnussen: “I have never been in a better situation than the one I am currently in with Haas. It’s a team entirely dedicated to racing, there is no bureaucracy and everything is very simple. We all believe in each other and that’s why we have accomplished all this.”
