United States – Free Practice 2: Hamilton still leads a session shortened by rain
The last ten minutes of this second free practice session of the United States Grand Prix were the only lively ones, with rain preventing the drivers from taking to the track earlier. Lewis Hamilton thus posted a merely anecdotal best time ahead of Pierre Gasly.

The rain eventually ended up genuinely hindering the drivers this Friday. This second free practice session in Austin provided little spectacle with a completely soaked track that did not encourage the cars to go out.
The audience, nevertheless present and loyal, was able to enjoy a few laps in the last 10 minutes with conditions on the mend.

Only a few drivers went out to test the clock, and once again it’s Lewis Hamilton, on Intermediate tires, who puts his Mercedes at the top of this anecdotal ranking.
He leads a surprising Pierre Gasly in his Toro Rosso, Max Verstappen, consistent since this morning at the wheel of his Red Bull, and Fernando Alonso in his McLaren.
