Official: Lance Stroll confirmed at Racing Point Force India
As expected, Lance Stroll has been confirmed by the Racing Point Force India team for the 2019 season alongside Sergio Pérez.

Although the announcement was only made official today, it was known since the acquisition of Force India by a consortium led by Lawrence Stroll, that his son, Lance, then a Williams driver, would sooner or later join the former Indian team.
Rumors had announced the arrival of the Canadian driver before the end of the season, but in the end, Mercedes managed to have Esteban Ocon finish the season in his seat, with Sergio Pérez having been confirmed in his position for 2019 during the season.
Present in his new colors during the private tests organized by Pirelli in Abu Dhabi right after the last Grand Prix, Lance Stroll is very happy to finally announce his arrival: « It’s the beginning of an incredible journey in my Formula 1 career. I’m eager to start working with a successful team with a rich culture in this discipline. It’s a new challenge and I’m glad to embrace this opportunity.” »
Otmar Szafnauer, the team’s Sporting Director, shares this enthusiasm: “I am happy that we can finally confirm Lance’s arrival alongside Sergio [Pérez] next year. This gives us an exciting duo combining youth, talent, and experience. Lance is only twenty years old and already has two years of experience in Formula 1, a podium, and a front-row start. We see enormous potential in Lance and believe we can create an environment where he can thrive. Our team has had a lot of success developing and helping young talented drivers, and we are very happy to start our journey with Lance. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Esteban Ocon for his contribution to the team over the past two seasons and wish him good luck for the future.”
