Williams launches the FW42 on the track in Barcelona
The FW42, the latest creation from the Williams team, is finally on the track at the Barcelona circuit this afternoon. It has been entrusted to the young George Russell.
It’s the end of a long suspense and a long wait experienced this early afternoon on the Barcelona track. The Williams team has finally been able to get the FW42 on track!
For the past few days, Claire Williams has had to justify to the press the absence of her team on the track for the first days of winter testing of the season at the Barcelona circuit. A delay in the design of parts, due in particular to the new 2019 regulations, had thus been cited by the Sporting Director of the team based in Grove.
The first rollout of the latest Williams was announced, at best, for Wednesday evening. It was finally able to hit the track in the early afternoon with George Russell behind the wheel, marking the first positive point for the British team since the start of this chaotic week.
The team will now have a lot on their plate to catch up on the delay accumulated during these two days of waiting.
