The drivers lined up by the teams in this morning’s testing in Barcelona set off for the last time under the Spanish sun. Unsurprisingly, the drivers who did not take the wheel the previous day slipped into their cars this morning.

Ferraris are in good shape; indeed, after Leclerc yesterday, it’s Vettel’s turn to set the fastest time in these Catalan tests with a 1:16.221. By the end of the morning, Bottas, Grosjean, and Vettel had already completed more than 68 laps each.

Hamilton, Magnussen, and Hülkenberg will take over the seats for the afternoon in place of Bottas, Grosjean, and Ricciardo.

Three red flags marked this day, all three due to mechanical issues: the first for Räikkönen, the second for Vettel, and the third for Magnussen.

In terms of laps, the good students Kvyat, Sainz, and Räikkönen completed over 130 laps. Verstappen, on the other hand, did not drive much as he completed only 29 laps, the driver having suffered a gearbox problem that prevented him from driving more than 2 hours on the Barcelona circuit.

As for the lap times, the top eight drivers are within the same second; however, far behind, Kubica is more than 2 seconds behind Vettel.

Despite the mechanical failure, Vettel remains the benchmark in lap times for these two weeks of testing in Barcelona. However, it’s worth noting that Hamilton is very close behind, as the British driver recorded a time just 3 thousandths of a second behind the German.
