It is now confirmed, next Tuesday, Mick Schumacher will drive the SF90. A fairly busy week since the next day, the son of the seven-time world champion will conduct a day of testing with Alfa Romeo Racing. These two test days have been scheduled by the Ferrari Driver Academy, of which the F3 champion is a member.

He will have had the opportunity to drive on the Sakhir circuit before these tests as he will be competing in his first F2 championship race there this week.

A first plunge into the deep end for Mick Schumacher who could replace Giovinazzi in 2020 if the Italian proves disappointing and at the same time the German driver shows promise.

Schumacher is thrilled to conduct his first run in Formula 1: I’m obviously more than excited and would like to thank Ferrari for giving me this opportunity. I am really looking forward to having a great experience. But for now, I am deliberately putting all thoughts of the test aside, as I am also very eager to participate in my first F2 race and would like to focus one hundred percent on the upcoming weekend.

Alfa Romeo Racing also announced that British driver Calum Ilott will undertake the same type of test in a few weeks on the Circuit de Catalunya. Like Schumacher, the Englishman will carry out his first tests behind the wheel of a Formula 1. Being part of the Sauber Junior Team, it is logical to see Ilott participating in these young driver tests.
