A third DRS zone in Bahrain
A third DRS zone will be added this weekend on the Sakhir circuit. It is located between turn 3 and turn 4.

To facilitate overtaking, the FIA will add a third DRS zone on the Sakhir circuit. The detection point will be located on the main straight, and its activation zone will be at the exit of turn 3. Thus, 3 out of the 4 long straights in Bahrain will become DRS zones.
In 2018, the FIA added a third DRS zone on almost every circuit, but Bahrain had escaped it. This circuit located in the middle of the desert is not the one most lacking in overtakes as in 2018 the track offered no fewer than 46 overtakes, which is 14 more than in 2017. Will Sakhir be able to do better this year with this new DRS zone?
This technology focused on the rear wing will be able to prove itself more than ever this year because the 2019 regulations have allowed for significantly wider wings, resulting in the DRS being 25% more effective and, above all, greatly facilitating overtaking.
Next stop… Bahrain, for race 9️⃣9️⃣9️⃣!!!
