Dan Ticktum in test for Red Bull
Red Bull announced that its young protégé, Dan Ticktum, will take part in a test day during the private tests in Bahrain, after the Grand Prix.
The British driver had been waiting a long time for this opportunity. With enough points on his Super License to participate in private Formula 1 tests, Dan Ticktum will be able to take advantage of this possibility as early as next week during the Bahrain private tests.
Thus, on Tuesday, April 2, he will be able to observe Max Verstappen at the wheel of the RB15 before driving it himself the following day. It will be interesting to see between Schumacher and Ticktum, the two rivals for the title in Formula 3, who will perform better at the helm of a Formula 1 car.
Last year, the Red Bull protégé didn’t have the chance to participate in the private tests in Budapest because he didn’t have enough of those valuable points needed to obtain the Super License. This issue may have even cost him a seat with Toro Rosso in 2019.
This season, the Briton will race in Super Formula for Mugen Honda. He is not the only one participating in this Japanese championship, as Pierre Gasly, also a Red Bull protege, had chosen the direction of the Land of the Rising Sun before his appointment in the premier category of motorsport.
