Video games: F1 2019 reveals its release date!
As every year, Formula 1 seasons are accompanied by their game, and 2019 is no exception. We now know the release date of this new edition.

The 2018 installment of the video game dedicated to Formula 1 managed to eliminate some of the flaws of its predecessor, but it was not the racing game of the year. However, it was relatively well-received by the press and fans thanks to a revamp of the graphics engine and a significant improvement in the career mode.
This year, Codemaster will have the daunting task of doing better, but the British studio has every chance of succeeding, especially considering they’ve been developing their new toy for two years.
F1 2019 will be released two months earlier than its predecessors, on June 28, during the Austrian Grand Prix. It will of course be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This release date was announced through a trailer on social media that leaves us eager with anticipation. Notably, at the end of the trailer, the silhouette of a Formula 2 car can be seen, which could mean that, similar to the MotoGP game series, players will need to prove themselves in the lower categories before joining the premier class of motorsport.
It was notably announced that players will be able to customize the livery of their single-seater online. These single-seaters are based on this year’s regulations and were designed by Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds.
The Director of F1 Games, Paul Jeal, states: « Our close relationship with Formula 1 has played a major role in achieving this key objective for the franchise. This, along with our nearly two-year development cycle, has allowed us to develop new exciting features as well as other firsts for the franchise that we can’t wait to share with our community in the coming months. »
This additional freedom given to players and fans is very likely due to all of Liberty Media’s initiatives to digitize Formula 1 and make it more accessible.
