Fernando Alonso will be in the McLaren in Bahrain
Fernando Alonso will participate in the private tests that will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday, after the Bahrain Grand Prix, on the Sakhir track.

It didn’t take long before hearing about Fernando Alonso again in the Formula 1 paddocks. Indeed, the Spanish double world champion, who recently tested a rally raid car, will be present for the private tests that will take place in Bahrain next Tuesday and Wednesday after the Grand Prix.
In his new role as ambassador for McLaren, it was no longer a secret that the Spaniard would find himself behind the wheel of the MCL34 during the year. He was even considered for participation in the winter tests in Barcelona before the season, but it ultimately did not materialize.
Zak Brown, the Director of the British team, justifies this choice: « His knowledge and perspective will be welcomed both by our drivers and our engineers, while his personality and charisma remain very appealing to our partners and our fans ».
Alonso will therefore be at the wheel of the MCL34 but on behalf of Pirelli, which will be responsible for organizing the three half-days – the entire Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, where the Spaniard will be in the single-seater. The two 2019 holders, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris, will also have a program to complete over the two days.
Alongside the MCL34, we'll be running a test car for Pirelli at the #BahrainGP in-season test. Here's our line-up. ⬇️#MCL34
