Official: Williams recalls Patrick Head
Iconic figure of the Williams team, engineer Patrick Head, has come out of retirement to help the team, which has been without a Technical Director since Paddy Lowe's departure.

On the sidelines of the Bahrain Grand Prix, whose first free practice session took place this morning, the Williams team announced that Patrick Head has returned to assist the technical team based in Grove.
In great difficulty since the beginning of the year, Williams has set aside its collaboration with Paddy Lowe, leaving the technical team on its own. To try to get out of this difficult situation, Claire Williams has chosen to recall Patrick Head, a team shareholder and especially a legendary engineer who collaborated for many years with Frank Williams to bring the team to the top in the 90s: “We can confirm that Sir Patrick Head is currently offering support to our team of engineers as a short-term consultant,” confirms a statement from Williams.
With the returning Robert Kubica and young talent George Russell, Williams found itself far behind its rivals during the first race in Australia, with a completely outdated car and a glaring lack of resources. The arrival of Head could allow the team to gain clearer insight into its management and the technical direction to adopt in an attempt to turn things around during the season.
