Official: Romain Grosjean continues the adventure with Haas in 2020

The Haas team did not wait until the end of the season to announce its driver duo for next year. While Kevin Magnussen had already been confirmed a few months ago, the name of the second driver to accompany him in 2020 was still a mystery.

The choice had to be made between two drivers: Romain Grosjean, who has been with the team since its inception in 2016, or Nico Hülkenberg, recently let go by Renault for the following season. The American team has thus decided to trust continuity by extending the contract of the Frenchman: “The experience and the need we have for it were at the heart of Haas’s reflection. The presence of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen in our team in 2020 will offer us a solid platform to continue growing. Their knowledge of the team and its operation, as well as their skill behind the wheel, gives us value in building our foundations,” confided Günther Steiner, the sporting director of the American team.

Romain Grosjean is proud of the trust his team has in him and will therefore continue his adventure in Formula 1 next year: « I have always said that my desire was to stay with Haas. I have been with this team since its beginnings and I have seen the work done by Gene Haas and Günther Steiner to make it competitive. I am obviously very happy to continue with them. » declared the French-Swiss driver who will start his 10th season in Formula 1 in 2020.
