The last practice sessions before qualifying begin with even hotter temperatures than the previous day. Under these conditions, it seems that the performances of Ferrari and Mercedes are close.
Charles Leclerc sets a lap 0.2 seconds faster than Lewis Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel is 0.6 seconds behind. Next is Valtteri Bottas in the second Mercedes.
The Red Bulls are 5th and 6th. Alexander Albon clocked a better time than Max Verstappen, who lost a few tenths in traffic.
The McLarens and the Renaults round out the top 10.
Two retirements are to be noted in this session. Sergio Perez after an accident halfway through the session, causing a Virtual Safety Car and then a red flag, as well as Daniil Kvyat for Toro Rosso. The cause is an engine failure of the Honda unit.
