Warm-up for Fernando Alonso at the Rallye du Maroc
The collaboration between Toyota and Fernando Alonso continues. The Spaniard is participating in rally events under the Japanese manufacturer's banner, with the goal of competing in the prestigious Dakar. For the dress rehearsal, the former Formula 1 world champion has chosen to compete in the Rally of Morocco before making a decision on the Dakar.

Far from asphalt tracks and single-seaters, Fernando Alonso is venturing into a new discipline, Rally. Following the unsuccessful attempt at the Triple Crown with the Indianapolis 500, Nando is switching gears and testing his driving skills in the desert with an SUV. Accompanied by co-driver Marc Coma, five-time Dakar motorcycle champion and three-time Cross Country Rally World Champion, Alonso will tackle the North African dunes starting this Saturday.
On the program, 5 stages starting from the region of Fez and passing through the Erfoud desert. In total, more than 2500 Km to cover.
Test completed ✅.

This competition will also be an opportunity for the Asturian bull to measure himself against the top contenders in the discipline, the Frenchman Stéphane Péterhansel (Mini), the Qatari Nasser al-Attiyah (Toyota), and the Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Mini).
Fernando Alonso can hope to be competitive as the 2020 Dakar will be organized for the first time in Saudi Arabia, where all drivers and teams will arrive in uncharted territory.
