Official: Kvyat and Gasly continue with Toro Rosso in 2020
Following the announcement of Alexander Albon's appointment at Red Bull for 2020, Toro Rosso confirmed the presence of Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly for the upcoming season.
It wasn’t really a surprise, but an official announcement from the team was nevertheless needed: Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat will indeed drive for Toro Rosso in 2020.
IF the Russian’s place had been confirmed in half-words by Helmut Marko a little earlier in the season, there was still a slight doubt concerning the Frenchman who was still vying for the free spot at Red Bull with Alexander Albon. With the latter being confirmed by the Austrian team this morning, it is therefore only logical that the Rouennais will drive for Toro Rosso next year.
On his various social media accounts, Pierre Gasly expresses his happiness in continuing the journey with the team, which should be called AlphaTauri next year: « I am very happy to continue with Toro Rosso in 2020 with a very exciting challenge ahead of us. The team has always given me the best chances to perform each season, and I am super motivated and fully committed to giving them the best possible results in return. I am very excited to see what we can achieve in 2020. »
Daniil Kvyat is also happy to continue the adventure with the team: “We have achieved great things together this year, like our podium in Germany, so I hope to deliver another strong season with the team next year,” the Russian notably stated.
