Hamilton dominant in Abu Dhabi – Reactions from the Top 3
Lewis Hamilton won masterfully in Abu Dhabi, leaving no chance for Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.

Lewis Hamilton did what he does best, which is take the lead in the race and break away from the rest of the pack. Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc couldn’t prevent the Brit from claiming his eleventh victory this season. However, the six-time world champion did not hesitate to congratulate them: « These guys are the young ones coming up at the highest level, and they are fighting at the top of the standings. They have done a remarkable job all season, and it’s a privilege to race in this period of my career where they are present and represent the future of Formula 1. »
These young drivers, mainly represented by Verstappen and Leclerc, each had a great race. Starting with the Dutchman, who, despite some mechanical issues, managed to overcome them and finish the race in second position.
« We had a few small issues but it wouldn’t have made a difference in position because we had a different strategy from Ferrari. After that, our pace was positive, although slower than Mercedes. »
Starting from second place, Charles Leclerc ultimately failed to catch up with Lewis Hamilton and maintained that runner-up spot until an extremely fast Max Verstappen came to take it from him, leaving him with the last spot in the Top 3. A final race mainly conducive to debriefing this first season in red:
« I never imagined such a positive season, especially the number of pole positions. Even though unfortunately there are no points for pole position, as I often say. After 10 podiums, 2 wins, and some missed opportunities, I think it was a very good first season with Ferrari but above all a good learning season to be as close as possible next year. »
Having won the title earlier in the season in Mexico, Lewis Hamilton reflected on, surely, the best season of his career: « I think it has been our most solid season. As a driver, I’ve never felt so good and I hope we can continue like this next year. Honestly, it’s not so difficult to keep pushing forward, it’s harder to ease off and then pick it up again. I set myself the challenge to keep attacking, moving forward, and finding solutions. It’s very inspiring to see the team keep fighting. I loved these last races where we finished the year very strong. »
