A cycling team in McLaren colors
The manufacturer McLaren enters cycling by becoming the title sponsor of the Bahrain team in the UCI World Tour (the first division in cycling), which includes champions like Mikel Landa, Wout Poels, and Mark Cavendish.

McLaren continues to diversify and its latest partnership involves cycling. Indeed, the British brand, which knows success on four wheels, has become the title sponsor of the Bahrain team, which will now be called Team Bahrain-McLaren for the 2020 season.
This association goes even further since all the team’s runners will wear a tunic in the orange and blue colors of the Formula 1 team that finished in 4th place in the world championship this season with Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris as drivers.
An association that could bring a different perspective on technology in the world of cycling, as noted by the new Team Manager, Milan Erzen: “This moment marks an exciting new phase in our team’s history. We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished as Bahrain-Merida, and thrilled that we can now combine this experience with our joint venture partner McLaren, to innovate together in this great sport. Cycling is becoming an increasingly technical sport, and as Team Bahrain-McLaren, we will be well-positioned to compete with the best and work with our many partners to meet the challenge.”
In 2020, the team will welcome the Spaniard Mikel Landa, 6th in the last Tour de France and 4th in the Giro d’Italia, as well as the Briton Mark Cavendish, one of the best sprinters in the peloton, who will have the heavy task of embodying on two wheels the speed of McLaren cars.
