2019 Review – Kevin Magnussen: The Year of Maturity
The end of the year is approaching and it's time to analyze the drivers' performances in 2019. Motors Inside offers you a look back at Kevin Magnussen's season, who despite often having an incomprehensible car, managed to bring important points to his team.

Once again, Kevin Magnussen finishes the season ahead of his teammate in the drivers’ championship. The Dane has been the most consistent and ultimately brought in nearly three times as many points as Romain Grosjean.
But more than the accounting results, which may seem anecdotal given the team’s situation, it’s Magnussen’s attitude on the track that deserves praise. Often criticized and singled out for his borderline actions on the track, the former McLaren driver has learned to tone it down to avoid drawing too much attention this season.
The long-awaited maturity for a 27-year-old driver, who is already considered a veteran among the current young generation of Formula 1, seems to have been present this 2019 season.
His behavior within the team is also noteworthy because, with a difficult car to understand, Jan’s son managed to adapt more easily than his teammate, who was more inclined to complain and openly display the lack of solutions available to him.
Despite everything, after his relatively unsuccessful stint at McLaren, it’s hard to see how Magnussen could find a leading team if he doesn’t manage to raise his game. Much like Sergio Pérez, is the Dane doomed to the middle of the grid?
