Change at the helm of the French Grand Prix
After a season as a consultant, Eric Boullier is promoted to general manager of the French Grand Prix. Priority is given to the accessibility of the event throughout the weekend.

Already when he was still at the helm of McLaren, Eric Boullier had been one of the key figures who facilitated the return of F1 to France, at the Paul Ricard circuit. Last February, it was announced that he became a consultant and ambassador for the event, which allowed him to attend several races to promote the event and learn best practices from his counterparts.
Christian Estrosi, the President of the GIP Grand Prix de France – Le Castellet, commented on this appointment: « Since 2019, the French Grand Prix team has already greatly benefited from the advice and expertise of Éric Boullier. Eric had already participated in the working group for the return of the French Grand Prix in Formula 1 and I am delighted that he is further investing in our organization. »
The organizers also took advantage of this statement to emphasize the measures taken to promote mobility during the race weekend, which was a major issue when the event returned to the calendar in 2018. Last season, the situation had greatly improved as the number of spectators was significantly lower, likely due to the previous negative experience.
As the event reaches the halfway point of its five-year contract with F1, it must demonstrate its ability to both accommodate a large number of spectators and prevent them from losing hours on the small departmental roads, the only access points to the circuit, located on a plateau. This is why free shuttle services and dedicated carpooling lines have been multiplied to minimize the number of vehicles traveling to the site.
