Montoya’s son in F4!
Aged only 14, Sebastian Montoya will make his single-seater debut and try to follow in the footsteps of his father Juan-Pablo Montoya, a seven-time winner in F1.

Sebastian Montoya was announced today at Prema in Formula 4. In addition to participating in the Italian championship, which is considered one of the most challenging, he will also race in some events of the German championship, which also boasts a very high level. At just 14 years old, the Colombian will have a busy schedule, allowing him to gain a lot of experience. This career choice is similar to that of Lando Norris, who raced in the Italian, German, and British F4 championships.
Like many Prema drivers, Sebastian Montoya is supported by the Ferrari Driver Academy.
Sebastian Montoya seems very excited to make his single-seater debut: “I am very excited to start racing in single-seaters and to have the opportunity to race in F4 in 2020 with such a great team,” said Montoya. “Prema is a top-tier team and has all the equipment and staff to help me learn and grow as a driver.”
The young man’s father is none other than Juan-Pablo Montoya. A Formula 1 driver between 2001 and 2006, he won no less than 7 victories at the wheel of prestigious teams like Williams or McLaren. He was notably one of Schumacher’s rivals and won the Indianapolis 500 twice in 2000 and 2015.
