After a typically Ferrari ceremony, the team with the prancing horse unveiled its new single-seater, which will bear the heavy responsibility of finally bringing a title back to Maranello after 12 years of drought. As rumors suggested, the new Ferrari is named the SF1000, in reference to the fact that this season the Scuderia will compete in its 1000th Grand Prix in Formula 1 in Canada. Present since the creation of the top motorsport category, the Italian team is the only one to have achieved the feat of reaching 1000 races.

The differences between the SF90 and the SF1000 are minimal, at least in terms of the livery. The only new features are the change in the design of the drivers’ numbers on the chassis, the appearance of the Italian flag on the side-pods and near the rear of the chassis, and the disappearance of some black touches on the car.

Due to the lack of visibility, it is hard to say how the car’s aerodynamics have been changed. However, it is noticeable that the front wing is more curved than last year. Additionally, we can note the appearance of two winglets on both sides of the chimney. This small number of changes is due to the 2020 regulations, which are intended to be very similar to the 2019 rules.

After finishing a distant second place in the championship with only 3 victories in 2019, Ferrari will have to keep its head above water in 2020 to at least show a bit more fierce competition against Mercedes.
