Marcel Kiefer joins Red Bull Racing Esports
After a season with Racing Point, Marcel Kiefer signed with Red Bull Racing Esports where he hopes to have more chances to win the title.

Marcel Kiefer impressed the sim racing world in 2019 by stringing together some strong performances, such as in Bahrain where he finished 4th in his very first race ahead of the reigning champion, Brendon Leigh, but especially thanks to his victory at Silverstone after a great battle with Frederik Rasmussen and David Tonizza. Ultimately finishing in 6th place in the driver championship with no fewer than 60 points, he can boast of having secured two-thirds of his team’s points.
It was at the end of the year that the German driver announced that he was leaving Racing Point. Now without an Esports team, it was expected that Kiefer would return to the Pro Draft, but that was without considering the particular interest Red Bull had taken in him, deciding to sign him to replace Joni Tormala. The Finn was quite invisible in 2019, with his best result being second place in Germany. While his teammate was fighting for the title, he could do no better than 9th place. With the announcement that Nicolas Longuet was leaving the Austrian brand to join Renault, it was necessary to have two fast and consistent drivers who could bring a second consecutive title to Red Bull.
Marcel Kiefer is delighted to join Red Bull Racing Esports: «It is a great pleasure for me to join the reigning F1 Esports world champions. The team’s performances on and off the track are exceptional in both the real and virtual worlds, which makes me very proud to represent this prestigious team. »
This 2020 season of the F1 Esports Series already promises to be exciting with the Formula 1 teams becoming increasingly involved and the drivers who seem more prepared and trained than before.
