The new Williams unveiled
Following the departure of its title sponsor Rokit, the Williams team had to design a new livery. The red gives way to white and black.

At first glance, it’s a relief. There were fears that Williams would keep its old livery by simply removing the red from Rokit, but the Grove team has gone all out with a completely new livery. As expected, all traces of red are gone from the car. Now, the FW43 is predominantly white with touches of blue like the previous livery version, but black is added to the car.
Let’s now take a detailed look at this new livery. It’s on the side of the car, and more specifically at the back, that it has changed a lot. In addition to a new design around the numbers, the hood is adorned with many small arrows parallel to each other, reminiscent of the Mercedes stars, arranged in the same way. A thin black line that widens towards the rear suspension runs along the entire length of the single-seater starting from the nose. This is flanked by two blue lines. The Ponos logo is still found near the Barge Boards, but the sidepods next to it are now white with the Williams logo. The logo is also present on the side of the front wing. The rear wing alternates between navy blue and black, with a small stripe of blue on the sides just above the white. You can see the WeRaceAsOne project logo, which promotes equality in sports but also in general.
This new livery is relatively simple and somewhat reminiscent of Mercedes’ design from the past few years, or otherwise that of Brawn with lines following the car’s shape. Unfortunately, the big issue with this livery isn’t the design but the number of logos on the bodywork. Williams only has 4 sponsors, which explains the amount of empty space on the car. It’s an alarming situation for Williams, who mentioned a few weeks ago that they might have to sell their team to survive.
