The provisional schedule for the 2021 season to be unveiled in the coming days
The schedule for the 2021 season will be announced during October. The Australian GP is expected to be retained as the opening round of the season at Albert Park.

After a 2020 season marked by a cascade of cancellations during the first Grand Prix of the calendar, as well as some impromptu new arrivals, the organizers are preparing to announce a provisional schedule for the 2021 season.
According to Andrew Westacott, president of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, the organizers are ready to unveil the provisional GPs for the 2021 season during the month of October. Despite the lack of visibility, the Australian Grand Prix wishes to keep its slot in March, as this stage has been the inaugural Grand Prix since 2011 and intends to remain so for the 2021 season.
As a reminder, the 2020 season experienced a surprise cancellation of the Melbourne event just a few hours before the free practice sessions due to the discovery of Covid-19 cases, even though the Grand Prix weekend had already started.
For the 2021 calendar, the stakeholders, namely Grand Prix Corporation, Formula 1, and the Australian Government cannot afford another cancellation of this event, Andrew Westacott reminded while emphasizing the need to remain flexible in response to the evolving global health situation.
