Giovinazzi and Russell at fault during their formation laps
The rain is already challenging the drivers, and the first to suffer are Antonio Giovinazzi followed by George Russell. Indeed, the drivers made mistakes in their formation laps, damaging their cars.

Author of a superb qualifying performance in the rain, the Italian managed to place his single-seater in 10th position on the starting grid of the Turkish Grand Prix.
Unfortunately, the Alfa Romeo driver went off track during his formation lap, damaging the front of his car. Retrieved from the gravel trap by the tow truck, his car will be repaired on the starting grid.
On his side, George Russell damaged his car by hitting the wall at the pit lane entrance. His front wing was broken and the suspension also seemed to be affected. Williams therefore decided to start from the pit lane.
