Turkish Grand Prix: The Last Fatal Turn for an Overly Eager Leclerc
Charles Leclerc delivered a high-flying performance after qualifying in 14th place on the grid. The Monegasque was holding onto 2nd place, but a wheel lock-up on the final corner cost him dearly.

Charles Leclerc lost a chance to get on the podium at Istanbul Park. Author of a high-level race with, as a bonus, an overtaking maneuver on his teammate Sebastian Vettel on the track, his relentless quest for second place against Sergio Perez somewhat tarnished his good performance.
At the end of the race, the leading drivers fitted with green-striped Intermediate (Inters) tires took the gamble to finish the race with extremely worn tires whose grooves had disappeared. Charles Leclerc attempted an overtake on Sergio Perez in the final lap before being the author of a wheel lock-up, resulting in a loss of control. Such a mistake is unforgivable in the last corners of this track.
His teammate, lying in wait, will take advantage of this mistake to easily secure an unexpected podium given the performances at the start of the weekend.
In an extremely challenging season, luck finally smiled on Sebastian Vettel. Starting strong with flawless driving, he was rewarded with a 3rd place finish and, at the same time, earned the title of “Driver of the Day” at the 2020 Turkish GP.
