Haas confirms the arrival of Nikita Mazepin
Current Formula 2 driver, Russian driver Nikita Mazepin will drive for Haas F1 Team in 2021.

The rumor had been circulating for several months, and today it is official: Nikita Mazepin, 21, will make the big leap and drive in F1 in 2021. His arrival at the American team goes hand in hand with numerous other projects, financial ones this time. The team is known to be in financial difficulties and sports challenges by extension, and the arrival of the Russian driver is actually part of a massive investment plan by his family.
The native of Moscow comes from a family of billionaires who made their fortune in chemistry, his father Dimitri Mazepin reportedly aims to eventually buy the American team of Gene Haas.

Nikita Mazepin, currently 3rd in the Formula 2 championship, is having a great season driving his Hitech Grand Prix. He is regularly ahead of a very experienced teammate, Luca Ghiotto. While he can still potentially win the F2 championship, the battle for the title is expected to be between Callum Ilott and Mick Schumacher.
Here is a name that is also circulating a lot at Haas F1 Team, Mick Schumacher, the current leader of the F2 championship, seems to be the favorite to drive alongside Mazepin in 2021.
The departure of its two drivers, as well as the buyout of the team, marks a turning point for the American firm. Present in F1 since 2015, it has achieved a few highlights like that 4th place in Austria in 2018 with Romain Grosjean. But for many months now, the results are no longer there and Gene Haas’s American dream seems to have faded.
