In Abu Dhabi, Renault will bring together a world champion and his single-seater
Renault will reunite Fernando Alonso with his 2005 world champion car in Abu Dhabi for a few laps.
The Renault F1 Team announced that during the weekend in Abu Dhabi, its former and future driver Fernando Alonso will perform a run with an old Renault single-seater.
The double world champion with the team bearing the diamond logo will take a spin with the R25, the single-seater with which he was crowned in 2005. Shared between Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella, the R25 won eight races and finished all its races in the points except for the Canadian, United States, and Hungarian Grand Prix.
This single-seater equipped with a naturally aspirated V10 allowed the French team to clinch the constructors’ championship with 191 points and enabled the Spaniard to secure 7 victories in 2005.
The victorious duo in 2005 will be reunited during the last race of the season. The driver from Asturias will once again be behind the wheel of his R25 for a few laps over the weekend in Abu Dhabi.
