Romain Grosjean’s first IndyCar test and first run-off
Romain Grosjean's first tests didn't go as planned: he went off the track and hit the barriers.

These were not the beginnings he had dreamed of: today marked Romain Grosjean’s first return after his terrible accident in Bahrain at the end of November. The Frenchman was taking part in his first tests in IndyCar, with his new team, Dale Coyne Racing, at the Barber circuit in Alabama.
For the occasion, he sported the helmet designed by his children, which was supposed to be for his F1 race in Abu Dhabi. “New car. New series. Same determination.” Malheureusement, after only one hour of official practice, his day was cut short following a crash, after only 14 laps, while he was holding a remarkable 8th place for his debut in the category.
Fortunately for the pilot, the crash was less severe than the previous one, and he was able to walk away unscathed. However, the same cannot be said for his single-seater. Nevertheless, his mechanics managed to get him back on track so that he could gain as much experience as possible before the start of the season.
