Frédéric Vasseur, positive for Covid-19, absent in Bahrain
Frédéric Vasseur will not be making the trip to Bahrain due to a positive Covid test result. The rest of the team is unaffected.

After the drivers, it is now the turn of a team principal to be impacted by Covid-19. While no less than six regular drivers (Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Pierre Gasly, and Alex Albon) have been infected since last year, it is the turn of a team principal, in the person of Frederic Vasseur, of Alfa Romeo.
As the teams are gathered in Bahrain for the start of winter testing, followed by the first race of the season, Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN has announced that it will have to do without the presence of its team principal: Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN has announced that its team principal, Frédéric Vasseur, will not be attending the pre-season tests in Bahrain, which are taking place between 12 and 14 March. During his regular Covid tests, Mr. Vasseur tested positive. Following the protocols established by the French authorities, he immediately isolated himself at home. A second PCR test, two days later, returned a negative result. Mr. Vasseur has no symptoms and is in good health.
The telecommunications tools will therefore be used so that the strong man from Hinwil does not miss any of his drivers’ progress on the track. If his negative results are confirmed, he should be able to join the team for the start of the official season.
