To say that the Haas is the worst car on the grid is not revealing the secret of the year. However, with two rookie drivers, the battle for qualifying is still of interest as the two men will aim higher in the future, whether through his father’s fortune (Nikita Mazepin) or his name and the support of Ferrari (Mick Schumacher).

In Bahrain, the advantage went to the German. But above all, the Russian, who is not allowed to display his flag due to the ban on all Russian athletes participating in a world championship, had a very complicated day. The driver made no less than two spinouts during the fifteen-minute session.

Especially the second one had significant consequences as it occurred in the first turn of the last lap, ruining the attempts of many pilots. These could be even more frustrated as the young Russian had overtaken them in the penultimate straight while they were preparing their final attempt. Any resemblance to the current events of the Suez Canal is obviously coincidental!

But the young driver did not assume responsibility for these figures of style, especially the second. He declared: “I had a problem with the electronic brakes and I blocked the rear wheels. The pedal just went too far. It’s something we have to analyze because it’s not something I expected. We never had this problem during winter tests or this weekend.”

Former driver Jolyon Palmer, whose career did not leave an indelible mark on the history of the sport, even took the opportunity to unload on him for breaking the informal agreement among drivers not to disrupt their preparation laps. However, it must be acknowledged that other drivers did the same during the same session without any comment being made…
