Penalized on the grid: Vettel’s ordeal continues
It's been a disastrous start to the season for Sebastian Vettel. The German, eliminated in Q1 yesterday, has just received a 5-place grid penalty, putting him in last place for the start of the Grand Prix.

We expected a return to form for Sebastian Vettel with Aston Martin: it is clear that at the very beginning of this season, the German is continuing the momentum of his disastrous previous season!
Indeed, the four-time world champion was eliminated in Q1 yesterday during the qualifying of this Bahrain Grand Prix.
If he was inconvenienced on his run by the yellow flag caused by Carlos Sainz at the end of the session, Vettel was penalized for not respecting the same yellow flag, the one caused by Mazepin at turn 1.
The German driver was found guilty of ignoring the double yellow flag at that location and also had 3 points deducted from his license.
The German driver was keen to react: « We were already far enough, so it makes no difference. I hope we can find something intelligent about the strategy so that we can progress and benefit along the way. »
This penalty allows the two Haas drivers, Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, to each gain one position and start respectively 18th and 19th.
The start of the Bahrain Grand Prix will take place at 5:00 PM French time.
