After a highly acclaimed F1 2020 by critics (a score of 86 out of 100 on the Metacritic site), Codemasters announces that F1 2021 will be available on July 16. It will be the first game from the English studio since it was acquired by the American company EA. However, it is unlikely that this acquisition will be directly visible in F1 2021 and we will probably have to wait until F1 2022 to see a real change.

What are the new features of this new installment? First, players will be able to participate in a brand new career mode called “Breaking Point” which will have us competing against other drivers on the track but also off-track, including the antagonist of F1 2021: Devon Butler who made his appearance in F1 2019.

It will also be possible to take part in “a real season”. The only difference seems to be that one can only take part in the remaining races of the real Formula 1 season and that it picks up the current standings of the 2021 Formula 1 championship.

The online cooperative career mode also makes its big comeback. It had disappeared after F1 2014 with the release of the new generation consoles. This mode allows two players to take part in a career together, each from their own home.

F1 2021 naturally retains all the game modes present in its big sister, such as the My Team mode, the ability to take part in races in F2.

The new circuits on the calendar (Portimao, Imola, Jeddah) will be available after the game’s release.

F1 2021 will be available on PS4, PS5, PC, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X.
