A bodyguard of Sergio Perez was shot during a burglary
Burglars shot one of Sergio Perez's bodyguards at his home in Mexico. The racer said the bodyguard is in stable condition.

Burglaries of footballers during matches have become a concern for clubs. Recently, burglaries at the homes of PSG players caused a stir. One can also remember that Jenson Button was a victim of a burglary during his vacation in Saint-Tropez when gas was injected into the air conditioning system of his vacation home.
This Saturday, another Formula 1 driver almost fell victim since Sergio Perez announced that his home in Guadalajara had been the target of a break-in attempt. In a country where violence is common, this attempt did not leave the driver’s entourage unscathed as one of his bodyguards was injured by a bullet.
However, the Red Bull driver said that the news was reassuring: « They touched one of my guards: they tried to steal the car and nothing else. He is in good condition and the police arrested the burglars. »
To avoid disturbing the driver before one of the most difficult qualifying sessions of the season, those around him only informed him after the session. No need to explain why he is almost a full second behind the time set by his teammate Max Verstappen.
