Daniil Kvyat thinks that Helmut Marko will not call him back due to his pride
Now under the control of Alpine, Daniil Kvyat does not expect Doctor Helmut Marko to call him back for a possible return to one of the Red Bull teams.
Invited on the F1 Nation podcast, Daniil Kvyat declared that he didn’t think he would be contacted again by Red Bull (or AlphaTauri) to discuss a possible return. The Russian driver points to Doctor Marko’s pride that would prevent him from doing so.
« I think he’s dying to call me. But this time? Pride (of Marko) could be an obstacle, because already last time (in 2019 on his return to Toro Rosso – former name of AlphaTauri), it was a bit like admitting a mistake, right? », he confessed with a laugh.
The former Toro Rosso driver also stated that his eyes and ears are wide open. The Russian added that he was fairly flexible regarding a potential return to Formula 1.
Despite being open to returning to a spot on the starting grid, the Russian driver assures that he is having a lot of fun with the French Alpine team.
