The Singapore Grand Prix canceled, Turkey could make a return
The coronavirus pandemic will have had the better of the Singapore Grand Prix. The city-state authorities have decided to cancel the race. Liberty Media and F1 are focusing on an alternative to replace the event.

According to the information reported by the BBC, and confirmed by autosport.com, the authorities in Singapore have reportedly decided to cancel this year’s Grand Prix due to the travel restrictions that are in place.
The city-state has decided to maintain strict entry rules on its territory, and therefore deemed it impossible to open the race to thousands of people.
No official statement has been revealed, but a spokesperson ensures that everything is being done to assist promoters in having a full calendar. We continue to work with all promoters during this fluid period and have many options to adapt if necessary,” said an F1 spokesperson.
In order to replace this race, several options are available to Liberty Media. The Turkish Grand Prix could make a comeback on the calendar. While it was supposed to replace the race at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, the country had been placed in the red zone by the United Kingdom, leading to its cancellation.
The Chinese Grand Prix could also replace the Singapore race. A final option would be presented to F1, a double race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
