Michael Schumacher’s Jordan 191 is for sale
The Jordan 191, driven by Schumacher during his debut in Formula 1 at Spa-Francorchamps in 1991, is up for sale.

This is a true collector’s item that is for sale. It is considered one of the most beautiful and iconic cars in the history of Formula 1. The Jordan 191 allowed Michael Schumacher to make his grand debut in Formula 1 at Spa. It is indeed the car with chassis number 6, which the Red Baron piloted during the testing of the Belgian Grand Prix, that is for sale.
The German had been able to start this race, following Bertrand Gachot’s arrest after an altercation with a London taxi driver. Mercedes had therefore negotiated with Eddie Jordan (owner of the team of the same name) to allow its protege to replace the Franco-Belgian, for a fee.
Impressive behind the wheel of the single-seater, Schumacher quickly begins to dominate his teammate Andrea de Cesaris. During the qualifying sessions, the German qualified in 7th place, far ahead of the Italian, who was in 11th place. Unfortunately, the race quickly came to an end for the future world champion, due to a clutch problem.
After the 1991 season, the Jordan 191 equipped with chassis number 6 was sold to the Belgian collector Jean Blatton. The single-seater was then bought back in 2005 by Didier Siruge, who drove it during demonstrations, especially at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The car is still in working condition, it is offered with its complete equipment, including a file containing its certificate of authenticity, a model signed by Schumacher, and the original racing steering wheel framed in a display case. The Jordan is offered for sale for the modest starting price of 1.25 million British Pounds (1.45 million Euros).
