Roy Nissany will take the wheel of the Williams during Free Practice 1 at Le Castellet
The reserve and development driver of Williams, Roy Nissany, will take the wheel of George Russell's FW43B during the first practice session this weekend.

The Williams reserve driver – currently competing in Formula 2 with DAMS – will replace George Russell during the first free practice session of the French Grand Prix. The team based in Grove also specified that the British driver will start his weekend during FP2.
The Israeli driver announced that he was looking forward to getting back in a Formula 1 car, on a track where he has very good memories.
« I can’t wait to be back in the car, it’s very addictive. The Circuit Paul Ricard is a special track for me, I love the layout and I have good memories of it. The last sector is usually very difficult, and I’m looking forward to discovering it in the FW43B, said Roy Nissany.
During this driving session, the driver will have the mission of assessing new components introduced on the Williams during the last race (Azerbaijan).
(English translation) As usual, Roy will play an active role in our engineering program, further evaluating some components that we have introduced in Azerbaijan. His driving experience on this circuit and his feedback on the car will help us understand the details of the new parts, explained Williams’ Performance Director, Dave Robson.
