The release of F1 2021 now being less than a month away, the game is starting to reveal a little more. Codemasters has thus presented some new features in a trailer.

Most of this trailer reveals a large number of cinematics from the story mode of F1 2021, named “Breaking Point” in French. This game mode will therefore span over 3 seasons starting with the 2019 F2 season and ending in F1 in 2021. The scenes in the trailer show moments of rivalry between the player and their teammate, but also life outside the circuits, whether it’s with your agent or moments in the paddock with other drivers on the grid. This new gameplay approach is already shaping up to be very immersive.

Also, we were treated to some images of the My Team mode presenting new activities closely related to the improvement departments of your team. Unlike F1 2020, not everything will be automated and you will sometimes have to get your hands dirty to improve your team.

Always in the My Team mode, the values of some drivers have been increased, such as Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez, or Pierre Gasly have increased, while others like Bottas have decreased, which will allow players to choose different drivers than in F1 2020. But the big new feature for driver ratings is the introduction of the “Focus” factor, which, depending on your driver’s performance, will increase or decrease his other values.

Please note that those who buy the deluxe edition of F1 2021 will be able to have 7 historical Formula 1 drivers like Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, or more recently, Nico Rosberg as teammates in their team.

The trailer also presents images of the cooperative or online mode where two players will be able to start a career together either on the same team or as rivals in different teams. It will be possible to develop your car just like in a traditional career mode.

Lee Mathers, the director of the F1 games franchise, is confident that its new features will please gamers. F1 2021 is a tour de force and offers something for every type of racing fan. The trailer gives a glimpse of all the exciting innovations that await our players. Whether they want to live their F1 story in Braking Point or compete with and against friends, F1 2021 is breathtaking, the ultimate next-generation racing experience.

F1 2021 will be released on July 16 on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One X, Xbox One Series X. Those who purchase the Deluxe version will be able to start playing from July 13.
