Lando Norris is having an incredible start to the season. At the wheel of his McLaren, the young British driver is the only one to have scored points in every race and he has stepped on the podium twice.

With 76 points scored in the championship, Norris is only 21 small units away from his total last year, a performance that impresses McLaren boss Andreas Seidl, who praises his driver endlessly.

« I think that with everything we have seen from him, it just shows that he has taken another big step forward this year and also, it’s simply great to see that after a qualifying round that may not go as planned or a difficult race start, he remains calm, he knows that his opportunities will come, he manages his tires when needed, and then he uses the potential that is there when the opportunities show up during the race,” says Andreas Seidl, the team principal of McLaren.

« And it’s really great to see how he has evolved over the past two and a half years and scoring at every race means that the team is doing an excellent job in terms of reliability, pit stops, race strategy, and I am obviously very happy with what I see, he added.

This weekend, the F1 cars head to the Red Bull Ring, the circuit where Lando Norris secured his first podium in the premier category of motorsport. The British driver stated that he is looking forward to the two races in Austria.

« I am really looking forward to racing in Austria over the next two weeks. It’s a special place because it’s where I got my first Formula 1 podium. We had two good consecutive results in Austria last season, so I hope we can have two similar weekends this time. We can’t take anything for granted because many things are different from last year, like the car and the tires. »

We are going to approach these two races head down and advance step by step to try to get two results as we did in France, but also work hard to improve our performances in qualifying, he specified.

Before the two races in Austria, Lando Norris is in 4th place in the world championship with 76 points scored in 7 races.
