This week, Mercedes’ Technical Director, James Allison, revealed on the F1 Nation podcast that Lewis Hamilton visited our factory, spending a lot of time on the simulator last week and he is just as committed as everyone else to help us find the edge we need to be able to put pressure on Red Bull ahead.

An surprising attitude towards the seven-time world champion who admitted earlier in the year to hardly using the simulator and only doing about twenty laps a year. However, in recent weeks, the Briton has changed his approach and is using it more and more to help his team progress and put an end to the difficult period that Mercedes is going through.

« Well, I can’t say that I necessarily enjoyed that. Really, especially after these recent tough races we’ve had, I just went to see if there was a way to help the team better prepare », he said in an interview this Thursday.

« I think there have been some good things but it didn’t change my life, so I will continue to work with Anthony (Davidson, Mercedes simulator driver) and we have other drivers who are doing a lot of work on the simulator, so just focusing on communication processes with them in a program so we can test the good things on track. So I think overall, it has been positive », he added.

At the dawn of the Austrian Grand Prix, Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton are determined to fight back against Red Bull, on a track where they were soundly beaten by Max Verstappen last week. In the standings, the British driver trails Max Verstappen by 18 points.
