This Thursday, Formula 1 will present live on Facebook and YouTube a 2022 single-seater from the Silverstone circuit where the British Grand Prix is taking place this weekend.

If Formula 1 has still not shown any visuals of the future race car, the Italian media outlet LiveGP.it had published a few weeks ago images of a show car similar to the 2022 regulations.

During the official presentation of the car, a panel of experts will explain their thoughts behind the new concept.

Next year will mark the beginning of a new era for F1, as it will see a return to ground effect. With simplified aerodynamics, there will be less dirty air, so drivers may have an easier time following each other, which would improve the show and overtaking.

Next year, car design will not be the only change. During the 2022 season, Pirelli will introduce 18-inch tires (compared to the current 13 inches), which will add a touch of modernity.

The live will be available on the F1 website as well as on their Facebook and YouTube accounts this Thursday from 1:30pm UTC (3:30pm Paris time).

The tests carried out since 2019

A lot of work has been done, notably on the reduction of drag in order to prevent followers from losing too much downforce.
