This Sunday, Lando Norris took part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where he notably drove Ayrton Senna’s McLaren MP4/5B, before heading to Wembley for the Euro 2020 final. After leaving the stadium, the British driver was attacked by several people, in an evening marked by numerous disturbances and confrontations.

« McLaren Racing can confirm that Lando Norris was involved in an incident after the Euro 2020 final at Wembley, during which the watch he was wearing was taken from him. Fortunately, Lando was not injured, but naturally he is shaken. The team supports Lando and we are confident that the racing fans will join us in wishing him the best for the British Grand Prix this weekend, indicates the British team in their statement.

McLaren did not want to communicate further information on the subject because it is now a police matter.

After the lost match against Italy, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were victims of racist insults on social media. As a fervent supporter of his national team, Lewis Hamilton came to support his compatriots and judged the messages received by the footballers disgusting, showing how much work still needs to be done.

« I hope this will open a conversation about acceptance. We must work towards a society that does not require black players to prove their worth or their place in society solely through victory. Ultimately, all members of the England team should be very proud of their success and how they have represented us, », he added in an Instagram post.
