The American is even more disappointed because he was supposed to do a demonstration with the Lotus 79 this weekend. An opportunity wasted by the pandemic!

On Thursday, McLaren issued a statement stating that their director, as well as two team members, had tested positive for Covid-19. When asked about how he felt about missing the British Grand Prix, Zak Brown said he was frustrated because he is doubly vaccinated and has been careful for over a year.

I feel good. I am frustrated because I am double vaccinated and have been extremely careful for a year and a half. When you are at home, you have no idea where you got it from.

The American then admitted that he expects to witness a Lando-Mania, as the Briton is racing at home this weekend.

« I think it’s going to be a huge crowd: McLaren-mania, Lando-mania, the crowd being British. We were strong there last year, so I start this race weekend with some excitement and nervousness. », he said.

However, the biggest disappointment for the McLaren director comes from the fact that he had to drive the Lotus 79, the car with which Mario Andretti became world champion in 1978, in front of British fans.

To be honest, it’s probably the one that moved me the most (not driving the Lotus). Mario drove it at Goodwood last week, so I was going to participate in the demonstration on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, he concluded.
