Hamilton shows his support for the LGBTQ+ community in Hungary
The seven-time world champion has posted a message on Instagram, in which he openly criticizes the Hungarian government's anti-LGBTQ+ law.

On the eve of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton posted a message on his Instagram story in which he criticized the discriminatory law against the LGBTQ+ community. This new legislation, passed last June, prohibits the dissemination and use of educational content that promotes homosexuality and gender change.
To all of you in this country of Hungary, I want to share my support for those affected by the anti-LGBTQ+ law before this Grand Prix weekend.
« It is unacceptable, cowardly, and inappropriate for those in power to suggest such a law. Everyone deserves to have the freedom to be themselves, no matter who they love or how they identify.
I ask the Hungarian people to vote in the upcoming referendum to protect the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, they need our support more than ever.
« Please, show love to those around you, as love will always win. I am sending you positivity, », he wrote.
On July 21, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that a referendum would soon be held on this controversial law, passed last June.
During this referendum, Hungarians will have to submit their vote on whether they support promoting sex change treatments for minors, the unrestricted exposure of sexual content affecting minors’ development, or if they agree to allow schools to talk about sexuality to their children without consent.
